Hi. I'm Tom and I am an award winning fine art photographer based in West Chester, PA. I shoot weddings, portraits, commissions, videography, commercial work, and various freelance work.

My passion for photography started back in the '90s when I went to school at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. During that time, I was very much into action sports and capturing photos and video of the exploits of my crazy friends and I. It turned into a bit of a hobby.

After the events of September 11, 2001, I gave up a great job to join the US Navy. I was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terror. I experienced quite a bit during my time in service.

After I got out of the Navy, I went back to school and completed my business degree with a focus in marketing. It didn't take long for me to realize that a cubicle in an office wasn't for me. I yearned for adventure.

So, I started to take my photography much more seriously and started Newforge Studios. Since it's inception, my goal has been to capture quality images while having a great time doing so. That mentality has taken me to some amazing places. From shooting a wedding at the Vatican to shooting conceptual images in Iceland and everything in between.

Photography has allowed me to meet some incredible people and travel to exotic places. I've trained with and shot alongside some of the best in the business. So far its been a fun ride.

I also work in sports broadcasting for a company that has done everything from the Super Bowl to the Motley Cru tour. I can’t put a title on what I do because it depends on the day but I wear a lot of hats in this realm. The big takeaway is that I am an excellent team leader and work well under pressure. There is no room for mistakes in live TV. This work too has taken me on quite a few fun adventures.

I believe very strongly in teaching the skills I've learned to new photographers and videographers. I've taught photography at a dedicated art school, teach private mentoring sessions and have taught at various workshops and conferences. I also regularly train experienced videographers on new and various cameras and equipment in my sports broadcasting work.
